Frequently asked questions.
Do you have a shop or boutique?
We have a boutique in Ditton Manor, Berkshire. At your appointment you can try on outfits, buy ready to wear and order your custom bridal and party wear ensembles.
I can’t get to you, how can I order?
We provide a virtual appointment service for brides further afield. For measurements we will send you a form and can go through the measurement taking process with you on a video call.
For ready to wear we have a selection that you can order straight away online, and there are more at the boutique.
If your outfit requires alterations once you receive it, you will need to find a tailor local to you to carry those out.
If you have had your measurements taken by us, and attended your fitting appointment in person, we will take on any tailoring for you free of charge.
Courier fees will apply when shipping out to UK addresses.
Can you custom make any design I want?
To an extent, yes. We do not do imitation/ copies of designer outfits, however.
If you'd like a look inspired by a particular designer, we can work together to create something bespoke and one-of-a-kind to you.
At your appointment we can talk through your vision and how we can bring that to life in whichever way possible.
Do I need an appointment?
At Sherni London we pride ourselves on giving you the best service, and the only way to do that is to limit the number of clients we have at a time.
That way, you get private, one-to-one attention, we can talk through your vision and make sure we recommend the right options for you.
It's a better experience for you, and a huge part of how we do things differently.
What size ready to wear outfits do you have?
We stock sizes 8 to 28 ready to wear.
Most sleeveless outfits come with sleeve pieces that you can get stitched on by a tailor.
Do you sell readymade outfits online?
We have a range of ready to wear in stock however we don’t carry multiple pieces in the same design. This means stock can come and go day by day. Coming in to the boutique will give you the best idea of quality, fit and colour, and you’ll be able to try it before you buy too.
We believe in delivering a great customer experience, whether that’s on a virtual call or in person at the boutique.
Do you do alterations?
We have a trusted tailor we use for alterations, and have an additional charge for this service. Tailoring takes anywhere from 3-7 days depending on the type of alteration needed, and time of year - busier periods such as wedding season/Eid/Diwali festivals mean more work for our tailor, and slightly longer waiting times.
How long does a custom outfit take to make?
For bespoke bridal outfits we would advise a minimum of 12 - 16 weeks, up to 6 months for more complex, unique designs. At your consultation we will advise you on the estimated timeframe.
For custom party wear, timeframes vary but can be as quick as 6 weeks.
Please allow enough time before your event to book an appointment and discuss your ideas with us.
What happens if I lose or gain weight before my event?
We will take an additional set of measurements from you before your ensemble goes to the final stitching stage. We aim to get your outfit as close as possible to these measurements.
Do you hold open days or sales?
Yes, we regularly hold open days where you can pop in any time, no appointment needed. We also hold sales at various points in the year. If you’d like to be notified next time we have an open day or sale, we’d love for you to subscribe to our mailing list below.
What sizes can I try on in bridal outfits?
We have bridal samples in sizes 8 to 22. However as we work almost purely on a custom basis, we have a small, curated range of samples in stock.
Are you inclusive?
Absolutely - we welcome any age, size or background of client. We are also LGBTQ friendly and we are a no-judgement zone.
