TULSI

A Bespoke Two-Layer Bridal Anarkali with Hidden Details | Sherni London

Tulsi arrived at her Sherni London consultation knowing what she wanted - and we loved her for it. She came with ideas, energy and a real sense of her own style. Our role, as it so often is, was to listen carefully, bring our expertise to the table, and help her shape those ideas into something truly extraordinary.

What emerged was one of the most personal and joyful pieces we have created.

The foundation of the design was a two-layer bridal anarkali with a contrasting green skirt underneath — a combination that felt both regal and individual. Rich in detail, considered in construction, and entirely her own.

But it was the personalisation woven into this piece that made it exceptional.

Tulsi's husband is a devoted Liverpool Football Club supporter. So, nestled quietly within the hand embroidery on her anarkali, our artisans stitched a single Liver bird — small enough to be almost hidden, but there for him to find on their wedding day. A private moment of joy sewn into the fabric of one of the most important days of their lives.

For Tulsi, family was equally at the heart of this outfit. We added loops into the tassels at the back of her anarkali so that she could attach small lockets carrying photographs of loved ones who were unable to be there on the day. It is a detail so simple in its execution, and so deeply meaningful in its intention.

The thoughtfulness continued throughout. Tulsi opted for two dupattas - one to drape and one to wear on her head. On the border of one, we added green silk fabric to the reverse, tying it back to the contrasting skirt beneath the anarkali and creating a quiet harmony across the whole look. Touches of green and peach threadwork were also introduced throughout the hand embroidery, adding warmth and depth without overwhelming the overall design.

Every element of embellishment was worked by hand by our skilled artisans — the standard we hold ourselves to on every bespoke Indian bridal wear piece we create at Sherni London.

When Tulsi saw the finished outfit, she was overwhelmed.

In her own words:

"So many compliments. People loved the liver bird and how you couldn't really see it. I still get told my outfit was stunning and it's been a year. How easy it was to communicate with you, no judgement, you listened, pushed my ideas and used your knowledge to make them even better. I absolutely loved working with you and always recommend you to everyone who is getting married and want something bespoke."
