A Second Chance to Say “I Do”:

Inside Two Beautiful Renewal of Vows Ceremonies

There is something incredibly powerful about choosing each other again.

Weddings often mark the beginning of a journey, but for many couples the real story unfolds in the years that follow - through life’s changes, family, challenges, and growth together.

Recently, two couples were given the opportunity to pause and celebrate that journey through a pair of intimate and deeply meaningful renewal of vows ceremonies, created through a collaboration between Trish Kaur, founder of Sherni London, and Celebrant Sonal Dave.

What began as a simple idea quickly turned into something much bigger.

A Community Response That Took Everyone by Surprise

When the vow renewal competition was first announced, the intention was to create something heartfelt and special for a small number of couples.

Instead, the response was overwhelming.

Nearly 100 couples came forward to share their stories. Stories of marriages that had lasted through decades, couples who had faced cultural expectations when they first married, relationships strengthened through challenges, and partners who simply wanted the chance to say “I do” again in a way that reflected who they are today.

The Ceremony: Intimate, Personal and Full of Meaning

The ceremonies of Beena & Baz, and Binita & Hemant, took place in the elegant setting of the Harrow Masonic Lodge, surrounded by close family and loved ones.

Leading the ceremonies was Sonal Dave, an award-winning wedding celebrant known for creating deeply personal and inclusive ceremonies. Sonal, who many will also recognise from the recent series of Love is Blind, specialises in multicultural and LGBTQ+ weddings and has built a reputation for telling couples’ stories in a way that truly resonates.

Each ceremony was crafted to reflect the couple’s unique journey, where we were celebrating not just their wedding day memories, but the years that followed.

Why Vow Renewals Are Becoming So POPULAR

For many couples, the first wedding happens at a time when life is very different.

Perhaps the celebration was shaped by family traditions or expectations. Perhaps finances, timing, or circumstances meant compromises had to be made.

Years later, couples often find themselves wanting to celebrate again, this time with the wisdom and confidence that comes from building a life together.

A vow renewal offers the opportunity to:

• Celebrate milestones in your marriage
• Include children and family members who were not there the first time
• Reflect on how your relationship has grown
• Create a meaningful moment that is truly your own

Whether you have been married five years or fifty, recommitting to each other can be one of the most powerful celebrations of love.

Celebrating Love Through Style and Craft

For the ceremonies, the womenswear was curated by Sherni London, the luxury Asian bridal and occasion wear brand founded by Trish Kaur.

Menswear was provided by HIM Menswear, experts in mens formal and traditional grooms wear.

Alongside the outfits, a number of talented creatives contributed their expertise to bring the day together - from hair and makeup to photography, videography, music, styling and jewellery - capturing every moment with care and artistry.

Their work ensured the couples not only experienced something unforgettable but also left with beautiful memories to treasure for years to come.

Could a Renewal of Vows Be Right for You?

The response to these ceremonies showed just how many couples feel drawn to the idea of celebrating their marriage again.

A renewal ceremony can be as intimate or as celebratory as you wish. From a small gathering with close family to a beautifully styled event marking a milestone anniversary.

What matters most is the intention behind it: choosing to stand together again and honour the journey you’ve shared.
